『アイム・ソーリー』

『アイム・ソーリー』は、ミック・ヨハン初の個展。

作品の多くは、専業主夫として得た新しい視点から作られたものだ。

フェミニストであると同時に、ユーモアに溢れた作品になっている。

いかにも申し訳なさそうなタイトルは、今日の男性の状態、父親あるある的なギャグ、

そして自身の性的表現への嗜好に対する気持ちから付けたものだ。

アーティスト・ステートメント
「僕は、男性至上主義の時代は、まもなく終わりを迎えると思っている。女性が世界を支配するだろうし、男性はそれに対して何もできないだろう。女性の方が賢くて優れた人類である上に、良い匂いまでする。オナラの回数も少ないし。僕ら男性にできることなんて、何も残されていない。それなら、その状況を受け止めて、過去の酷い行いについて謝って、女性が人類をより良い方向に導いてくれるのに任せよう。アートは、いつだって、変革のための道を切り開いてきた。だから、世界に対して未来を示すことは、アーティストである僕の使命だ。親愛なる友よ、恐れることなかれ。女性が作る未来は、明るい。」

MICK JOHAN /ミック・ヨハン

1980年生まれ 。オランダ、アムステルダム出身の作家、アーティスト、ドラマー。

現在は、東京で専業主夫として暮らしている（自称「海外駐在員の妻的な存在」）。

オランダでVICE MAGAZINEの初代編集長を務めたほか、悪名高きアーティストデュオMiktor & Molfの片割れ、そしてドラマー“MICH”として活動してきた。昨年、初の小説『Totemdier Arafat』（英題 Spirit Animal: A Raging Fable of Teenage Angst）を出版。小説の映画化権は、既に売却済。スケートボード、パンク、ストリートカルチャーに深いルーツを持つ。

生々しく、滑稽で、挑発的で、「本当にヒドい、嫌い！」と言わせるような作品が特徴。

'I'M SORRY.'

Mick Johan (1980) is a writer, artist and drummer from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He currently resides in Tokyo as a stay-at-home-father and 'Tokyo expatwife' as he calls himself. Mick was the first editor-in-chief of Vice magazine in the Netherlands, half of the infamous artist-duo Miktor & Molf, and drummer of MICH.  He published his first novel Totemdier Arafat (Spirit Animal: A Raging Fable of Teenage Angst) last year. The movie rights for his novel have been sold. Mick has deep roots in skateboarding, punk- and streetculture. His work has been characterised as raw, humoristic, provocative and "Terribly annoying, I hate it!".

'I'M SORRY.' is Mick Johan's first soloshow. Most work is made from his new perspective as a stay-at-home-father. It's feminist, but humoristic. The rather apologetic title of the show refers to the state of men today, to his dad-lolz-humor, and his love for sexual depictions.

Artist statement:
"I believe we are nearing the end of the male dominated era. Women will rule the world and there is nothing men can do about it. Women are smarter, superior human beings who smell nice. They also fart less. There is nothing left for us male human beings to do, then to accept this, apologise for our terrible behaviour in the past, and allow women to guide us into becoming a better species. Art has always paved the way for change. Therefore it is my duty as an artist to show the future to the world. Fear not, my dear friend, for this future of women is a bright one.
